Recent commission - an exact replica of a shark fin made from reclaimed metal set into reclaimed australian oak.
 
About the project:
In 2003 a great white shark was tagged off the coast of South Africa, 99 days later she was tracked to Western Australia, then in 2004 she resurfaced back in Gansbaai, South Africa. The nine month journey of nearly 14,000 miles revolutionised understanding of these largely illusive predators, and earned the shark the nickname 'Nicole'.
 
With the help of the very scientists who studied Nicole's journey we've created an exact size and shape sculpture of her dorsal fin. Standing just under 50cm tall this life size sculpture is made from recycled steel and is appropriately mounted in a base of recycled Australian Oak hardwood. All handmade with painstaking attention to detail this striking fin is a stunning thought provoking piece.
